Claas recently announced several updates coming to its XERION range of tractors next year, including two brand-new models. The first is the XERION 4200, which features a 462-horsepower (344.5-kilowatt) MTU OM 470 engine that produces nearly 30 horsepower more than the XERION 4000 model it replaces. CLAAS says this more powerful engine “gives the tractor significantly higher reserve capacity for driving auxiliary equipment,” such as “during manure spreading.” The 4200 is also available with either a fixed cab or rotating cab.

The second is the XERION TRAC TS, which features 30-inch (762-millimetre)-wide CAMSO crawler tracks that CLAAS says increase “the machine’s footprint by 25% compared with the largest single tyre,” which can reduce ground pressure and improve traction. Available in 5000 and 4500 versions, the new model has a tare weight of 24 tonnes with a maximum gross vehicle weight of 30 tonnes on the road. The XERION TRAC TS has also the option for a 490- or 530-horsepower (365- or 395-kilowatt) engine.
